Fig Jam Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1kg figs
  • 200 grams. Brown sugar
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 5-6 cloves (optional)

Directions

  • Peel the figs and place them in a glass bowl.
  • Add the sugar and lemon juice.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and place the bowl in the fridge for 12 hours.
  • Then transfer the content of the bowl in a pan with a thick bottom.
  • Place the saucepan over medium-low heat.
  • Add the cloves and cook for 30 minutes while stirring regularly with a wooden spoon.
  • If you the mixture foams remove most of it with a slotted spoon.
  • Remove from the heat and allow the jam to cool.
  • Once cool transfer the jam into sterilized jars.
